(ONN) – Shorter wait times at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

That’s the goal of a new pilot program announced by Governor Mike DeWine.

“The new virtual system called Get In Line, Online lets customers save their spot in line before they even leave the house,” the governor said.

DeWine says he hopes the new virtual online check-in system will improve customer service for people who are renewing their licenses, registering their vehicles or accessing other BMV services.

The system is being tested at 12 locations, including in Bedford, in Cuyahoga County.

Most of the locations where it’s being tested are in central Ohio.
