Earthquake Strikes The Cleveland Area

(News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – Did you feel it?

Probably not if you live in the Canton area, but people further north sure did.

We’re talking about the rumbling at around 10:50 or so Monday morning.

People across the Cleveland area reported feeling the earth rumble.

The City of Mentor said on its social media accounts that is was being inundated with calls about the rumbling and that it was probably an earthquake.

People as far south as Akron reported feeling the earth rumble.

There doesn’t appear to have been any damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey says it was a 4.0 magnitude quake centered near Eastlake.

We are waiting for the experts to affirm what was probably an earthquake here in NEO but please tune in to the news. Dispatch is being overwhelmed with 911 calls – we don't know anymore than you do at this point.
