MARLBORO TOWNSHIP (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – Marlboro Township Voters will soon have to decide if supporting their local fire department will be worth an increase in their taxes.

This fall, a request to approve a $3.8 million levy will be on the ballot which if passed, could possibly create employment opportunities.

Township Trustee Wayne Schullig says he believes the Fire department is looking to hire both full time and part time workers to improve response time.

If approved, the levy would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $133 a year in taxes, which is about double the amount they currently pay.
