CANTON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – One local store is going to the next level to go green. Empty Bin, Zero Waste is a store in downtown Canton which sells biodegradable products that can be used around the house.

Their variety of handmade goods such as reusable lunch bags, bamboo tooth brushes, stainless steel containers and much more were created with the intention of eliminating plastic waste.

Shop owner Teresa Mazey says she was inspired to make a difference when her first grandchild was born. After selling her homemade products at farmers markets for a few years, a spot opened up in on 4th street in downtown, giving her the opportunity she desperately wanted.

Empty Bin, Zero Waste is the only store of its kind in the entire state of Ohio. Mazey says she originally saw the concept from stores in Europe. The Akron native opened the store on August 1 and has a grand opening scheduled on August 31 where the entire store will be 10% off.
