COLUMBUS, Ohio (News/Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Ohio Department of Health and the USDA begin another round of raccoon rabies vaccinating, beginning on Friday.

The departments will drop vaccination baits in 14 counties, including Stark, Carroll, Tuscarawas and Portage.

And it may be working.

There have been just two confirmed cases of raccoon rabies in the state this year, one of them in Tuscarawas County.

There have been no positive cases in Stark County the last two years.
