PLAIN TOWNSHIP (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – The Plain Township Board of Trustees updated a resolution last night on recently approved legislation involving the townships yard waste site.

Last month the trustees voted to privatize the site, making it limited to residents who purchased a key card starting in the new year.

Yesterday, legislation was passed that provides a further outline of the rules regarding the yard waste drop off area. It can be found below.

Use of Yard Waste Drop Off Area

  1. Only NON-COMMERICAL USERS bringing yard waste from their property can use the designated yard waste drop off area. No commercial businesses, commercially labeled vehicles or vehicles in excess of 8600 GVW are permitted drop off at the site.
  2. No construction materials, treated wood, dirt, rocks or plastics can be dropped off at the site. Only biodegradable yard waste will be accepted. Plastic bags used for transport must be removed from the material.
  3. No drop off after posted drop off hours of operation as determined by the Board of Trustees which currently are: Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  4. Sign(s) shall be posted by Township personnel containing these regulations.
  5. Whoever violates this resolution is subject to a fine of $500 for the first violation and a fine of $1,000 for each subsequent violation.
