Akron HS Student Arrested After Caught with Gun in School

AKRON (News Talk 1480 WHBC) – A student at an area high school was arrested yesterday after an Akron PD school resource officer found him with a gun on campus.
19 year old Tiqcwon Brent was said to have been found with a loaded hand gun in the restricted area of the Akron North High School building at around 10 AM. Officers say Brent dropped the gun to the floor and was taken into custody without incident once officers found him.
A follow up investigation determined that a 17 year old student sent text messages to Brent, warning him to hide the weapon. The juvenile who sent those messages has been charged with Obstructing Justice.
