Mets rookie Pete Alonso defeated Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the finals to win the 2019 MLB All-Star Home Run Derby at Progressive Field on Monday night in Cleveland.

Alonso outslugged Guerrero 23-22 in the finals to claim the crown, and also the $1 million dollar first place prize.

While Guerrero Jr. finished second in the contest, he did set an MLB Home Run Derby record by hitting a total of 91 homers over three rounds of competition.

Indians All-Star first baseman Carlos Santana competed in the “Long Ball” contest, but didn’t make it out of the first round, as he lost to Alonso 14-13.
