Bus Driver To the Stars Retiring and Telling His Stories
Darrell “Curley” Jones is a blessed man. His career as a bus driver for country music stars’ The Oak Ridge Boys has spanned 40 years.
He’s retiring. He’s written a book, On the Road with The Oak Ridge Boys that shares many stories on the Oaks and their many friends.
Artists and industry friends have been sending stories and photos of his life on the road with the Oaks.
“I am grateful and honored that the Oak Ridge Boys gave me an opportunity that allowed me to work in an industry that I love and have a true passion for,” said Darrell “Curly” Jones. “Driving for them again meant the world to me and I will be forever grateful to them and cherish the memories we made together.”
Curly Jones has driven celebrities, sports figures and music artists from all genres including Melissa Manchester, Chaka Khan, Lee Ann Womack, Melissa Etheridge, Huey Lewis, Little River Band, Heart, Brooks and Dunn, Keith Urban, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Oak Ridge Boys, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Merle Haggard, Ashley Monroe and many more.
