Allyson Bussey, Visit Canton, and Danielle Brickwood, with MaryAnn Donuts, were guests on the Gary Rivers Show Monday morning to invite listeners to enjoy donuts during the NFL 100th Year Celebration.

Mary Ann Donuts and Cafe has debuted new centennial-themed doughnuts that are football-shaped and decorated with chocolate frosting and a “100.”

To mark the 99th anniversary of the league’s founding, area Mary Ann’s locations will give visitors a free doughnut Sept. 17.

“Mary Ann Donuts was honored to be a part of such an exciting time for both the NFL and the city of Canton” said Danielle. “We like to consider ourselves a Canton classic and are proud to be a third-generation family business right here in Canton, Ohio. With the addition of celebration donuts we were able to partner with the Centennial Committee and provide football doughnuts for the county to commemorate the kick off of 100 years of football on Sept. 17.”

The doughnuts will be available all year, but they’re mostly likely to be in store cases during football season. People who want to provide the doughnuts at events should call ahead, Brickwood said, and they’ll be available for orders anytime.

The NFL Centennial Celebration in Canton will fall around Sept. 17, 2020, which is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the league in downtown Canton.

Events are scheduled from Sept. 16 to Sept. 19, 2020, and will include the opening of Centennial Plaza and a concert. More details will be announced soon.
