In the south parking lot of Zion United Church of Christ, adjacent to the main entrance stands a new white box. It’s a Blessing Box that was conceived, built and installed by church members, and its contents are there for those in need. Inside you’ll find non-perishable food items, toiletries, and as the Northeast Ohio weather turns colder, blankets, gloves, socks and other items to help keep people warm.  The sign attached to the box says “take what you need. Bring what you can. Above all be BLESSED” and that’s the church’s hope for the box, to bless and help those in our community that may be in need. If you need something, stop by and get it, no questions asked, and if you have something to donate, please stop by and do so.

In celebration to this new ministry to the community, the church will bless the Blessing Box after the conclusion of Sunday morning services next Sunday, September 29, 2019, the community is always welcome at the church services, and especially at next Sunday’s blessing.  Established in 1814 and open to all, Zion UCC serves as the spiritual home to many residents of North Canton and beyond.
